To Love Ru Darkness 1st Season Outline:

If you read the first review on To Love Ru and Motto To Love Ru, I said the anime doesn't have a significantly great story and is very heavy on the ecchi (almost to the point it's called light porn), but the comedy is still a worthwhile watch if you have the time. It's the same deal on Darkness but now the plot has a general direction for the whole series and we get to know more about the more popular characters Momo and Yami.

This is the promised To Love Ru Darkness review! Believe it or not unlike the first 2 seasons, Darkness has REAL PLOT (is this really To Love Ru?!). 12 Episodes are centered around three characters in particular:

Momo Velia Deviluke

The third princess of the Deviluke family, Momo has developed feelings for Rito and has also noticed the large number of girls who also like him. She develops a 'Harem plan' where she wants to turn Rito into a carnivorous man so he could love all of them after he becomes the King of Deviluke. Rito first passes this off as a joke, but later on thinks of the possibilities...

Yami

Formally known as Golden Darkness (Konjiki no Yami), the most feared assassin in the universe,Yami has adapted to Earth's customs and has even become best friends with Mikan. The anime focuses on Yami's past and antagonists aiming to bring back her old self.

Kurosaki Mea

A second generation experiment with the transformation powers - she was born after the galactic war and was raised by a 'master' as a weapon. She aims to bring back Yami's old self as she considers her an older sister.

Art is the same if not better than Motto, the Opening and Ending Songs are as fantastic as ever, and the story becomes more pronounced. The anime dives deeper into the ecchi category and some scenes are too lewd / obscene if you like stuff like that.

Changing the format from Motto To Love Ru, 1 episode features 1 story but things have become a lot more exciting since a plot has been introduced. We learn more about Yami's past, new characters have been added, some of the other characters have completely realized their feelings for Rito. To Love Ru Darkness was 10x more interesting than its previous seasons, where the episodes were mostly just fillers.

Overall, despite having received negative comments and reviews on how the anime became 'softcore porn', Darkness is definitely an improvement STORYWISE but it IS standing on the border between Ecchi and Hentai and I don't recommend it for younger audiences :) In the end, I guess To Love Ru is simply a fanservice anime after all, but I'm still open to surprises and changes when I watch Darkness 2nd Season. Comments are appreciated!

Anyways let me leak you some cool pics of Gid Lucion Deviluke *_*
